Accordian Medallion

Here are the instructructions to create the Scallop Edge Accordian Medallion as seen above and in the previous posting of the 3D star. For the 3D star I used the large scallop punch. This one was made with the Big Shot die Scallop Circle #2 (#113469).

Cut 2 scallop circles out of the Newsprint DSP (#117166). For this demo I am using a side with musical notes.

You will need to fold your scallop circle in half in between the scallops, open up and fold in between the next scallop and so on untill you have a fold between every scallop. Cut on one fold line to the center (I used my Paper Snips #103579, love those little scissors). Begin accordian folding until you have what looks like a little fan. Repeat with the other piece.

After you have your two "fans" finished adhere together. I just used snail adhesive (#104332), no wait on glue drying. Make sure you get adhesive on the whole little "pie" section you are attaching. There will be a bit of a hole in the center, but that will be covered.

You will need to play with it a bit to get it to lay flat. If you want to have glitter on the edges use the 2-Way Glue Pen (#100425) and apply to egde of each scallop and sprinkle with Stampin' Glitter (my favorite set is Fine Galaxy #114286). Work in small sections as the glue dries too fast to do it all at once.

Time to decorate - I put a stampin' dimensional (#104430) in the center and adhered a piece of Brushed Gold cardstock (#102935) punched with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch (#118874). On top of that is a piece of Newsprint DSP punched with the 1-3/4" Scallop circle punch (#119854) that is stamped with the medallion image from Artistic Etchings (#118517) with Crumb Cake classic ink (#121030). The bird is from the Notably Ornate stamp set (#117098) and was stamped with the VersaMark pad (#102283) on Soft Suede cardstock (#115657) and is imbossed with Gold emboss powder (#109129) and then cut out with the paper snips.
I think with will make a cute tree ornament!
