Cable Knit Pumpkin

A couple of years ago I picked up an orange cable knit sweater at a thrift store with the intention of making a stuffed pumpkin with it.  That didn't happen and I don't even know where the orange sweater went to...perhaps back to the thrift store.
Anyway, that is what inspired this card...

Using a die from the Layering Ovals Framelits I cut out 3 ovals from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then embossed them with the Cable Knit embossing folder.  I then sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink and then layered them together to create the pumpkin.  From Soft Suede cardstock I hand cut a stem and used a die from the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits for the curly vine part.

The background is Very Vanilla cardstock stamped with the word "grateful" from the Endless Wishes stamp set in Sahara Sand ink.  The greeting and banner are also from that stamp set.

For the leaves I stamped a leaf from the Vintage Leaves stamp set in Always Artichoke on Very
Vanilla cardstock
and cut out with the coordination die in the Leaflets Framelits set.
I then sponged them with Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke and Soft Suede inks.
Last, I flicked dots of ink from the Soft Suede and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers.

Jar of Haunts with Candy Corn

Well, I am finally inking up some of the other stamps in the Jar of Haunts stamp set (so far I have only used the pumpkin image).  When I found these cute little individual bags of candy corn I knew I had to make these tags with the jar and candy corn to go with them.

I stamped the jar, candy corn, spider and treat saying with Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out the jars with the Everyday Jars Framelits and the greeting with a die from the Tags & Labels Framelits.  I colored the candy corn with the Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers
I punched a hole through both pieces and then tied together with some twine from the Halloween Night Baker's Twine. Then I just stapled the tag to the top of the bag with the Handheld Stapler and Silver Mini Staples that are found in the Annual Catalog on page 185...I love this stapler and it is being discontinued so if you want it now is the time.  I have stocked up on the silver mini staples.

I miscounted and didn't make one tag for the number of jars I made so just stamped the "Happy Halloween" from the Jar of Haunts stamp set masking off the swirl that is under it.

Stamping on Fall Leaves

Oh my, I have been having fun collecting leaves and doodling on them but really my doodling was not what I imagined it would be so I simplified it with dots around the edges and words.

At first I tried a white gel pen but wasn't getting good results when I thought I would try the Stampin' Chalk Marker and it worked great!
Then not being overly impressed with my handwriting I pulled out the Labeler Alphabet stamp set and Whisper White Craft Stampin' Pad and it worked great.

So end result was I used the chalk marker for the dots around the edges and then stamped a word.
Love them!

I looked for leaves that were freshly fallen and still soft not dried.
They will curl up as they dry so after stamping and letting the ink dry, which didn't seem to take long, I pressed them under a large clear quilting ruler that I have...it wasn't too heavy and did the job.

Wouldn't theses be lovely on the Thanksgiving table?

White Pumpkins

Don't you just love white pumpkins and mini pumpkins?

This card was inspired by one I saw by Erica Cerwin.  She used the Layering Ovals Framelits to create a pumpkin.  Of course!  I remember doing pumpkins with the oval punches so why not with the framelits and they can be so many sizes...I really like this larger sized pumpkin and it works so well with the Vintage Leaves Stamp set and coordinating Leaflets framelits.

For the pumpkin I used Very Vanilla cardstock and sponged the edges with Soft Sky and Crumb cake inks then layered them together and added a little stem of Chocolate Chip cardstock about 1/2" wide. For the background I embossed Crumb Cake cardstock with the Cable Knit embossing folder. The leaves were stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock in Chocolate Chip ink and then sponged with Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry inks.

Here are a couple of white pumpkins I have in my home to decorate for the season.

I will be sharing how I did the leaves in another post so be sure and check back.

October Card Class

I just love the little pumpkin in the Jar of Haunts stamp set so I featured it on this first card.
Added some of the lovely Pumpkin Pie Glimmer paper cut out with a die from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. The background is embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder.
The banner is made with the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and Duet Banner Punch.

This next card uses several products which include the Tin of Tags stamp set, Pretty Pines thinlits dies, Cable Knit embossing folder, Warmth & Cheer designer series paper stack and the Banner Triple punch.

For this card I used the Emerald Envy Ombre Stampin' Pad along with the Christmas Pines stamp set, Pretty Pines Thinlits dies, Pine Bough embossing folder and This Christmas designer series paper.

This next card was a favorite in the class.
It features the Star of Light stamp set and Starlight Thinlits dies along with some Silver Glimmer paper.

Copper Vintage Leaf

For this card I combined the Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder and the Copper Foil Sheets to create this leaf along with the Vintage Leaves stamp set and the Leaflets Framelits.

To make the background I rubbed some Crumb Cake ink on a clear block and spritzed it with water before stamping on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.
I then added some sprinkles with Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and the Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Stampin' Write Markers.
The "thankful" is from the Endless Thanks stamp set and embossed with the Copper Emboss Powder.

Finished it off with a bow of thread from the burlap ribbon.

Cable Knit Thanks

Keeping it simple with this card featuring the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

This card has a card base of Crumb Cake Cardstock with a layer of the same color cut at 4" x 5-1/4" and run through the Cable Knit embossing folder.

The "thanks" if made using the Copper Foil Sheets and a die from the Hello You Thinlits.

A fast and simple card for a fall time "thank you".

Pumpkins!

So far I have only used the pumpkin image from the Jar of Haunts stamp set and I am doing it again with this card.  Perhaps I will ink up others before Halloween...at least I do plan to.
Right now I am just in a pumpkin mood.

For the pumpkin on this card I stamped the image with black StazOn ink on watercolor paper and then used an Aqua Painter to color the pumpkin using ink in the lids of my Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green and Soft Suede stamp pads.  For the shadow or ground I used the Sahara Sand Stampin' Write marker and scribbled on some color and then blended it out with an Aqua Painter

For the background I used the Endless Thanks stamp set and stamped the word "grateful" in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock, stamping twice each time I inked up the stamp.
The "thank you" is from the same set and is stamped in black.

The little dots are from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set and are stamped in Delightful Dijon ink, again stamping twice before re-inking.

I added a strip of Pumpkin Pie Glimmer paper and some twine from the Burlap Ribbon (just cut off a length of ribbon and then pull out individual pieces).

I have also been creating fabric pumpkins.
These are made from bandanas and are so much cuter than the picture of them.
