Summer Smooches Pot Holders

I was needing some new pot holders and wanted something fun so I thought that the Summer Smooches designer fabric would be perfect for the project.
Didn't have a pattern just winged it but will share what I did.

I cut the red and white at 9-1/2" square because that is how large my square ruler is, how is that for deciding on how large to cut something?  Then I cut the blue fabric at 8" square along with a piece of Insul-Bright and cotton batting.  Then I layered as seen above.

I drew straight lines on my 8" square piece of fabric with a disapearing marker starting in the middle at 4" and working out every 1" to both sides.  Make sure you put a walking foot on your machine for the quilting part and start in the center and work out to both sides.

Now for the binding just fold over and iron the edges of the red and white fabric about 1/4" then fold over the top and pin in place.  You will have to work with the corners a bit to make them look nice.
OR you could just cut out all the pieces the same size and make a seperate binding piece.  I thought this would be easier.

Using the walking foot on your sewing machine stitch the binding in place.

Now you are done!
Quick and simple!
