Faux Mother of Pearl

Create these beautiful background papers using Frost White shimmer paint, glossy paper, light colored classic ink and plastic wrap. Scrunch up a piece of plastic wrap and apply a small amount of shimmer paint. Dab over the glossy cardstock and let dry. Then brayer desired ink color all over then wipe with a paper towel. It's just that easy.

The colors I used on the above cards are Sahara Sand, Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake and Bashful Blue.

Wow! Long time no post. It's been a busy summer.

Newsprint Artistic Etchings

Playing with some new items from the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog that comes out July 1! I should be getting my supply of new catalogs any day so if you would like one please contact me. Lots of fun new stuff!

This card features the stamp set Artistic Etchings, Newsprint designer series paper, the new Cherry Cobbler cardstock and ink, and Early Espresso ink, all my new favorite things! The ribbon is black satin but only because I didn't have it in Early Espresso yet which is on my wish list. Also used the cutter kit to distress the edges of the Newsprint and Eiffel Tower image. There is a new Distressing Essentials kit in the new catalog that is also on my wish list!

On this card I used the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder on Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Also used the Artistic Etchings stamp set and a bit of Newspring DSP. Also featured is the new 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Early Espresso. Added a touch of Champagne glitter on the Eiffel Tower and misted the card with Champagne Mist shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol.

A simple little bag made with the Newsprint DSP and the Big Shot Fancy Favor die. Made the flower with Newspring DSP, 1-3/4" Scallop circle punch, and 1-1/4" circle and 1" circle punches. The "ribbon" is a strip of textured Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

June Classes

Presto Patterns card class - Thursday, June 10, 6:30 pm
Join me in my Stampin' Studio for some creative fun! We will make 3 cards using the Presto Patterns paper from the Summer mini catalog. You will love this fun paper that has a glossy design on it that resists when you apply ink to the paper. This paper comes in 12 x 12 and is also great for scrapbook pages.
Cost is $5.00, all materials included.

Creative Mess

Just had to stop and take of photo of the mess I make while "creating". This is how I work best but sometimes I can't find things I need because they are buried by something else! Working on a class using the Presto Patterns paper from the Summer Mini catalog.

Patriotic Card

Supplies used: Cardstock - Kraft, Not Quite Navy, & Real Red. "Red, White & Blue" and "Classic Stars" Stampin' Around wheels. Basic black & Not Quite Navy classic ink pads. Sponged with Close to Cocoa ink. Spritzed with Vanilla smooch spritz and Log Cabin smooch spritz. Cut out the flag from red cardstock that I had rolled the "Red, White & Blue" wheel over with black ink. Also punched a star out of the red cardstock with the small star punch.
