Year in Review

I went through all my photos of projects for 2013 and picked one from every month to share with you.  In some ways it seems like the year has flown but then looking at some of these pictures it seems like such a long time since I made them...starting with this little tote bag with cards...

I have lots of fun new items to share with you from the new Occasions Catalog and also Sale-a-bration which will be starting the end of January...I need to get busy stamping!

"2014" Candles

Just looking at my advent candles and got to thinking...

if I just switch out the "3" for a "0" then I would have "2014"...great idea...

Now I have New Year candles and can burn them all night till they are gone!

The numbers are from the stamp set Memorable Moments.  Stamped with VersaMark ink on Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  Punched out with the Label Bracket Punch.

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas!

I know I shared this banner before but thought you should see it with the Nativity set and Christmas decorations up.
So here is a little tour of my Christmas house...

The little banner on this garland can also be seen HERE.

I changed out all my bows from gold to burlap this year.

Below is a close up of our Jesse Tree this year.  We have always done one and have ornaments that the kids colored years ago but I got the book The Greatest Gift by Ann Voskamp this year and just loved her ornaments that you can print out.  I added some Dazzling Details for a little sparkle to them but it doesn't show up in the photo...they are really pretty.

I have been so slow on everything this month!  Quite late in decorating and I only got out about half my boxes...I guess that means I really don't need all that Christmas stuff!
Also, I haven't even sent out cards!  There really can't be an excuse for that!

Wishing you a lovely Christmas season-

Advent Candles

These are the candles we are using for Advent this year.  The candles are from the dollar store!
I simply wrapped some Silver Glimmer paper around the bottom of the glass candle holder and secured with Sticky Strip.  I stamped the numbers from Memorable Moments stamp set and heat embossed with Silver embossing powder on Basic Black card stock.  They are punched out with the Label Bracket Punch and attached to the candles with Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon.

I also did this set for the Craft Fair with a retired SU! alphabet.

Christmas Gift Tags

Another item I made for the Craft Fair earlier this month was gift tags.

I stamped on some Shipping Tags I had.

The first tag uses the World Map and Calm Christmas stamp sets.

The second tag uses the Snow Day and Snowflake Soiree stamp sets.

The third tag uses the Remembering Christmas, Christmas Messages, and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets and I added a little red nose with the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details.

I stamped on the Mini Muslin Bags with Black StazOn ink and Gold Metallic ink using the stamp sets Calm Christmas, Merry Little Christmas, and O Holy Night.

For the tags I used the Christmas Collectibles stamp set and coordinating Christmas Ornament Punch.  Added a piece of 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon and attached to the bag with a safety pin from the Vintage Trinkets.

Burlap "Chalkboard" Banner Ornaments

Here are some little banner ornaments that I made for the Craft Fair.

I used the 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon for the banner pieces and sewed on some jute with a zig-zag stitch across the top.  The letters are stamped with the stamp set Notable Alphabet and heat embossed with white embossing powder on Basic Black card stock.  I punched them out with the 1-3/8" Circle punch and rubbed on some Whisper White Craft ink for a chalkboard look.

Holiday Craft Fair

Here are a couple of photos of the booth at the craft fair that I did with a friend from Prairie Scraps.

This Vintage Suitcase Chalkboard sign was my favorite thing.  I miss it already but glad it got a good home.

I made this star with a vintage folding ruler and tied in place with some jute.

Added a tag made with the O Holy Night stamp.

Stamped on a shipping tag in Cherry Cobbler and sponged on some Crumb Cake ink around the edges for a vintage look.

I have more pictures to share so be sure and check back.

Chalkboard Canvas Banner

I have been busy getting ready for our local holiday craft fair and wanted to share one of the items I have made.  I will be sharing more over the next few days so be sure and check back!

I made a chalkboard banner using the Banner Simply Created Kit.
I used chalkboard spray paint on the canvas banner pieces and it worked great!
Now I have a banner that I can change out for any season.

I haven't gotten out my Christmas décor yet but when I do will have my Nativity set on top of the piano and did this banner to go with it.
I used a stencil for the "JOY" and "WORLD" and, obviously, free-handed the "to the".

I made up kits with 9 banner pieces to create words for several occasions.
Some ideas to use the 9 banners:
Christmas, Celebrate, Blessings, Halloween, and Valentine.
I am sure there are many other ideas and of course you can used smaller words.

Before using the chalkboard banner you need to "season" the pieces by rubbing chalk on them and wiping off with a chalkboard eraser.  Then you can use a stencil or free-hand your lettering with chalk.  I found when using a stencil to color it in with the chalk and then rub the chalk with your finger before removing the stencil helps fill it in better.

If you're in the Grangeville, ID area be sure and stop by and see me at the craft fair!
