Swoon Quilt

On my last post I shared a photo of my quilt getting quilted and just wanted to show you it all finished!
The pattern is called "Swoon" from Thimble Blossoms by Camille Roskelley.
Check out her blog HERE .

Thanks for looking and I will have some more cards to show you soon.
I have been doing some stamping in between working on quilts.

Quilt Card

Went into the quilt shop today.....well almost everyday.....I really love it there.....and she was quilting my quilt!  So exciting.  Can't wait to get it all finished.

Anyway, it inspired me to make a quilt card using similar colors.

So, below is what I did to make a paper pieced "quilt".

To make the paper quilt you need the 1" square punch.   My quilt is going to be 4"x4".
I punched out 10 Very Vanilla squares, 2 red, and 4 blue.  Set 4 Very Vanilla squares aside and cut all the rest of the squares in half diagonally.
To assemble the card I cut a 4"x4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and started in the upper left hand corner applying the pieces as I had layed them out to form the star (didn't take a photo of that but see the picture below on how it will look).
After all the pieces are adhered in place run it through the Big Shot with the Finial Press embossing folder which I just now realized, after looking it up in the catalog because I couldn't think of the name, is no longer available in the new catalog but there are other folders that would work for the quilted look.

The patterened papers used on this card are from Festival of Prints designer series paper pack in the Holiday Catalog and will be available on August 1.

Also used Cherry Cobbler card stock and ink, Bashful Blue card stock and the stamp set Friendly Phrases.

Tweet Leaves

This card features some great new products from the Holiday Catalog that will be available August 1.

Here you see used the Woodgrain embossing folder on Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock sanded with the new Stampin' Sanding Block.  I also used new framelit dies, Window Frames and a piercing pack called Festive to paper-pierce layer of Marina Mist card stock.

The stamp used is Tweet Leaves and I colored it with Stampin' Write markers before stamping on Very Vanilla card stock.

Also used are Vintage Trinkets, Itty Bitty Bannners, Bitty Banners Framelits, Woodgrain background stamp, Early Espresso ink, Marina Mist ink, More Mustard card stock.

Nature's Pace Papaya Collage

I have been feeling creative today and have made a few cards to share with you over the next few days.

This card is a collage style using the stamp sets Papaya Collage and Nature's Pace.

Oh no, I made a mistake........ so covered it up with a bow made of Very Vanilla Seam binding ribbon and a butterfly. I suppose you wouldn't have noticed but that is how things develope sometimes.

The card base is Crumb Cake card stock.  Ink colors used are Old Olive, Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Pool Party, Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake.
For the rose, I colored on the stamp with Stampin' Write markers in two shades for each color.  First I colored the leaf River Rock and added some Old Olive in places and for the rose I colored Pool Party then added Marina Mist highlights. Stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and cut out.
Repeat technique on butterfly then sponge soft suede on edges.

A River Rock Reason to Smile

I haven't used River Rock in a long time and am now reminded of how much I really like this color!
I wanted a paper that would work well with being embossed and sanded and the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack has just what I needed. The River Rock stripe looked like it would work great and I think it did.  I ran it through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan Folder and then lightly sanded the raised areas to reveal the white center of the paper.  Love how it makes the embossing stand out.

Again, I used the A Reason to Smile stamp set inked in Old Olive and Daffodil Delight.

The words are from the stamp set Trust God.  Love this set!

Also used Labels Collection Framelits, Linen Thread, and a Vintage Faceted Designer Button, River Rock and Very Vanilla card stock.

A Raspberry Ripple Reason to Smile

Love how this card turned out.
I really like this combination of Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Raspberry Ripple card stock.

To get the script inside the oval shaped Designer Frames folder I punched an Extra-Large Oval out of a scrap piece of paper and used that scrap paper for a mask to stamp words from the French Foliage stamp set on the Very Vanilla paper with Crumb Cake ink.  I then stamped the flower image from A Reason to Smile using Raspberry Ripple and Old Olive Stampin' Write markers then centered the folder on the stamped image and ran it through the Big Shot.
The A Reason to Smile stamp set is a two step stamping set and I was off a little on the stem but wasn't about to remake it just for that.  It adds personality, right?
Love the Delicate Designs folders especially the one I used on the bottom of this card that looks like lace.  I sponged the edges and embossed images with Crumb Cake ink.

More Reasons to Smile

Here are some more card ideas using the stamp set A Reason to Smile.

I spent some time looking at lots of samples of cards using this stamp set and then made the following cards based on cards made by other demonstators, changed them up a little.
So due to a lack of stamping mojo these are not my original designs.
Hopfully I will get inspired again.
I think it is too sunny and hot out.
Yes, that must be the problem.

Colors used are Pool Party and Island Indigo.

Colors on this card were inspired by the Color Coach.
Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, and Marina Mist.

On this card I stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Iridescent Ice on Shimmery White card stock then sponged on Pool Party ink.  It's really pretty in person.

Hope you enjoyed these ideas.
This is a great little stamp set and you can only get it this month for $5 with a merchandise purchase of $50.

Flowers - A Reason to Smile

Finally getting some time to play with the stamp set A Reason to Smile.  I have been having a hard time with ideas so spent some time looking at samples and came up with one from a fellow demonstrator, Melissa Davies, that I just had to copy.

Aren't those yellow flowers just happy?
I also misted the whole card with Frost White Shimmer Paint mixed with rubbing alcohol.

After looking at the card for a while I decided to sponge some Daffodil Delight ink onto the "lace" from one of the embossing folders from the Delicate Designs folders.  I am happy with the way it makes the lace design pop out.

Inspired by the card I made an arragement of flowers from my garden.

Workshop Cards

Had a fun workshop with a great group of ladies this weekend.

Both cards we made used the Apothecary Accents Framelits.

With this first card we used the frame left from the framelit cut out as a mask and sponged the color on.
Colors used are Old Olive, So Saffron and Bashful Blue.
Stamp sets used are Lovely as a Tree and Best Dad Ever.

This next card used the cut out run through the Big Shot with the new Fancy Fan Folder.
The butterflies are from the new stamp set Papillon Potpourri and the Elegant Butterfly punch.

This card also used the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and the Bitty Banners Framelits.
The butterflies were stamped with Basic Black on Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, and Gumball Green card stock.
Also used:  Whisper White card stock, Crumb Cake card stock, Crumb Cake classic ink, Netting background stamp, and Gumball Green 3/8" stitched satin ribbon.
