British Springtime Vintage

With the royal wedding tomorrow I felt inspired to create something with a British flare.

Not quite the traditional colors but I wanted to use up some scraps of Springtime Vintage designer series paper. I printed out the saying on Very Vanilla card stock and stamped and cut out the crown from the Artistic Etchings stamp set.

The Springtime Vintage paper is available til April 30 - that's only 2 more days!

Easter Blossoms

The first time a posted a card using the Easter Blossoms stamp set I was longing for Spring.............well, still waiting! It's snowing. I know that I shouldn't be surprised, but I always am.
There is hope though. The tulips are peeking up and will eventually bloom.

We picked a bad time to have a new heating system installed! Haven't frozen yet and should have the heat pump working tonight and everything finished tomorrow.

Anyway, on to the cards. I copied this card from Julie B's Stampin' Space. I just loved the simplicity of it.

This one uses Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, & Whisper White card stock and Early Espresso, Crumb Cake & Baja Breeze classic ink.

Then I made this one with the Rose Red instead of the Baja Breeze.

Note that the eggs are colored in with the accent color using the classic ink and a blender pen - it has a nice fine tip for those little spaces.

The Easter Blossom stamp set is in the Occasions Mini catalog and is available till April 30.

More Spring is Blossoming cards

So far these are my favorite cards I have made with the Four Frames stamp set and the Paisley Petals paper from the Spring is Blossoming promotion. I used River Rock and Not Quite Navy card stock on this card. I ran a piece of River Rock card stock through my Big Shot with the Finial Press embossing folder and then rubbed Whisper White craft ink over the top of the embossing to make it stand out more.
I love the stamp with the little bird from the Four Frames stamp set - isn't it cute?

I stamped the image in Early Espresso and added a little color to the bird and ground with Crumb Cake ink and an Aqua Painter. Thought the saying "it's the little things" from You're a Gem stamp set worked well and then added the little button brads from Vintage Trinkets to finish it off. I really love this card!

Sew Suite Card Set

I showed a sneak peek of this project back in January and now I wanted to show you all the details before the Occasions Mini Catalog ends on April 30. If you don't have the Sew Suite stamp set and the Sweet Stitches designer series paper and fabric you will want to get this before its gone! Originally the cover of the card holder was just plain and everything I tried to add just didn't look good until I ripped a piece of fabric and ran a gathering stitch down the middle of it and attached it to the front......I love the look!

The card holder is lined with wool felt and I added a loop to hold a pen that has the matching paper inside it - love having the paper and fabric that match!

I made 4 different cards using the Sew Suite stamp set to fit inside my card holder. To make the sewing machine, I paper pieced with Brushed Silver card stock and added a silver brad for the nob. The background of this card has the Pattern Pieces stamp stamped in Chocolate Chip on Chocolate Chip paper. Note the Sweet Stitches fabric designer brad with the pattern pieces that matches the Pattern Pieces stamp.

For the "ribbon" I ripped a strip of fabric and tied around the card front. Notice the cute little safety pin (from Vintage Trinkets) holding the little tag.....sew cute! The "buttons" are made with the Sweet Buttons embosslit die. I sewed them on with white thread but could have just made a line with the White Gel Pen, would have been easier!

The "rick-rack" is paper and made with the Tasteful Trim die. I did sew it onto the card. I paper pieced the thread spool and pin cushion to get the colors I wanted.

The Pompom trim is so cute and was just the thing to add some dimension to this card.

On The Grow

Time flies when you're having fun and I have been having fun playing with all my pre-order stuff from the Summer Mini Catalog. The Summer Mini Catalog will start on May 1 and run through August 31, 2011.

The stamp set featured in both of these cards is called On The Grow and is perfect for watercoloring, so I have been playing with that technique.

How to Layer the Decorative Label Punch

First you will need your main image punched out with the decorative label punch and 2 more decorative label pieces punched for the layering. Cut as shown above.

Queen Bee

I love how Stampin' Up! makes it so easy to create with matching papers and stamp sets. This card features the Botanical Gazette dsp (the piece I used has bees on one side and honeycomb on the other) and the Nature Walk stamp set that has a bee stamp to match the paper. The"Queen for a day" stamp is from You're a Gem. What's a Queen without a crown and there is a stamp for that in the Artistic Etchings stamp set. Add a little bling with Basic Rhinestones. The brad to hold the tiny tags if a little button brad from Vintage Trinkets and the rhinestone fit perfectly on top of it.
Also added a little shimmer with a mist of Frost White Shimmer paint mist mixed with some rubbing alcohol.

Supplies Used:

121783 - Botanical Gazette dsp

121997, clear or 121925, wood - Nature Walk

122270, clear or 122268, wood - You're a Gem
