Serene Silhouettes

The Serene Silhouettes is such a beautiful stamp set.
I love how peaceful this card looks.
I used Natural Ivory card stock and Night of Navy classic ink.
The ribbon is Vanilla Seam Binding tied with Linen Thread and a button from the Regals Designer buttons.
I also used on this card the Lacy Brocade embossing folder, the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Paper-Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat and 2-1/2" Circle Punch..

Doctor Who Note Cards

A little sneak peek at a stamp in the Sale-a-bration flyer.

When I saw this image the first thing I thought of was Doctor Who.
My sister is a fan so thought I would make her a set of note cards for Christmas.

I used the Note Cards & Envelopes which fit perfectly in the 4"x6" Cellophane Bags.
The blue is Pacific Point card stock and classic ink.

The "oh, hello" stamp is coming out in the Spring Catalog which starts January 2.
Sale-a-bration will begin on January 22!

Merry Christmas Present Card

 Merry Christmas!

I only made one of these cards as it does take some time but it is a fun surprise when you open it up.

You can find a tutorial on how to make this card at Add Ink and Stamp HERE .
This would also be cute as a birthday (as shown in the tutorial) or a wedding card.

Merry CHRISTmas to you and yours!

Christmas Eve Tea Party

Wouldn't you love to be in this house for Christmas Eve?
I would.  It just looks ideal to me.
This stamp image is from the stamp set Christmas Lodge.

Wanted to share some photos of our family tradition of having a tea party on Christmas Eve.

The table is set and ready!

The savories included Bacon Tarts, Chicken Salad Puffs, Cucumber and Cream Cheese sandwiches, and the classic Peanut Butter and Jelly.

I made Cream Scones and Cinnamon Chip Scones.
Various sweets included Cream Puffs, mini Chocolate Eclairs, and a variety of cookies.
A little bowl of grapes and Clementines.

Thanks for lookin'-
Happy Christmas Eve!

Vintage Sheet Music Ornaments

Making these ornaments took a little time but it was easy.
I just cut up vintage sheet music in approximately 1/4" strips.  Wound 3 or 4 strips at a time around a pencil to make a tight coil and fit into the opening of the glass ornament.  After inside they opened up to fill up the ball.  I just kept adding them until it looked good.   I made special care on the one above to make sure the words "Christmas music" showed up.
On top I tied a full bow (6 loops) of Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon that I had dampened with water and crumpled up to make it look vintage.  To dry the ribbon quickly I use the Heat Tool.

I have them in a bowl sitting on top of the piano and of course, I have the special "Christmas music" one sitting out in the garland.  Love it!

Fa La La La La Banner

This banner started out with a jingle bell garland that I picked up at the dollar store.
It is like a long silver pipe cleaner and had blue balls and the silver jingle bells on it.
I took the balls off and moved the jingle bells to be in between each of the banners I made with Basic Black card stock.  The letters are made with Silver Glimmer paper and cut out with the Big Shot using the Serif Essentials Bigz Alphabet Die Set.

On the bells I tied a length of white silk ribbon.
Wish I had taken a photo of this on my piano but didn't get a chance because I sold it.
It was also cute on a tree which is how I had it displayed at the Holiday Fair.

A Veiw From Where I Sit and a Card

Just sitting at my dining room table thinking that I should post on my blog and then I look up.
Love the light fixture all decorated for Christmas!  So, decided to show you the view of my Christmas house from where I sit at the moment.

I am always sad after Christmas and it is time for everything to be put away.
It just looks so plain and empty.
But, I won't think about that now.  I will just enjoy this time!

And now for the card...

I am really pleased with the way this card turned out.
Featuring the Watercolor Winter stamp set!
It is done in Soft Suede card stock along with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.
A hint of Champagne Glimmer paper.

This card opens in the center and is held closed by a Brushed Bronze designer button that the Window Frame cut out slips behind.

More Christmas Cards

Just sharing a couple more of my CASed Christmas cards.

This card features the stamp set Evergreen and the Festival of Prints designer series paper stack.
The little jingle bell is tied on with Cherry Cobbler bakers twine.
Isn't this a cute card?

Absolutely loved this card design!
I used Very Vanilla and Basic Black card stock along with a little Silver Glimmer paper and Early Edition designer series paper.
The stamp set used is Come to Bethlehem.  My favorite Christmas stamp set.
I embossed the image with Pewter emboss powder.

Beautiful Season

Another Christmas card that I CASed from someone.

Love this sweet little bird on a holly branch from the Beautiful Season stamp set.
I stamped the image with Early Espresso classic ink then lightly colored in areas of the bird and leaves with watercolor pencils.  It just adds a bit of color.
For the berries I used the Cherry Cobbler dazzling details.
The greeting used is from the stamp set More Merry Messages.

Gift Card Holder

It drives me crazy that every now and then a photo will load sideways!
What is up with that?  I just can't figure it out so this first picture will just have to remain sideways.

This is a simple little, 4"x4", gift card holder.
I used the Watercolor Winter stamp set and the beautiful flocked paper from Candlelight Christmas designer series paper.

First you need a 8" square of card stock.  I used Early Espresso.
Fold in half, open and fold in half the other direction, open again and fold in half on one diagonal.
For the gift card I created a "pocket" with Cherry Cobbler card stock cut 3-3/7" x 2", cut a half circle with a punch and attached with Sticky Strip.

To fold up the card have the diagonal folds fold inside like the above picture.

Decorate the front, back and inside as desired.

Note that the ribbon is only attached to the front area.

Merry Christmas Y' All

I just made a couple of these pillows this last week and was so excited to see this alphabet die on the Clearance Rack so I thought I would share it with you now that you can still purchase this die set.
It is called Serif Essentials Bigz Alphabet Die Set  and was listed in the catalog last year for $149.95 and is on clearnce for 59.99!

I ironed on a fabric adhesive to red wool felt and then cut out all the letters using the Big Shot and alphabet dies.  I then layed them out on my fabric where I wanted them and ironed them on.
The real work came in as I sewed a small zig-zag stitch around each letter.

Wish I had taken pictures as I made this but wasn't going to share as the die was not in the current catalog.
The pillow form I used was 16" square.  I cut my fabric in a 20" square.
After appliquing all the letters on I put right sides together (front and back) and sewed 1/4"around the outer edge leaving an opening for turning.  I marked a border around the center 16" (about 1-3/4" from the outside edge) and sewed around leaving an opening at the same spot as for turning.  Inserted pillow form,  hand stictched closed the opening on the edge, machine stitched closed the inner border area and then topstiched around the outer edge 1/4" from the edge.
Hope that makes some sort of sense.

I love that I can use my Big Shot to cut out fabric!
Behind the pillow you can see a quilt I made with yo-yo's that I cut out all the circles for with the Big Shot.  You can see that post HERE .

Watercolor Winter

I have been a little lazy in my card making this holiday season and have been looking to others for inspiration and copying some cards which I will be sharing with you and hopfully remembering who inpired me.
This card design comes from Dawn Olchefske.
This will be one of my Christmas cards this year.
Love the peaceful woodsy look.

It is all done on Crumb Cake card stock using the stamp sets Watercolor Winter and Merry & Type
Other supplies used:  Woodgrain embossing folder, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso classic ink, and Dazzling Details.

Merry Snowflake Soiree

This card features the stamp set Snowflake Soiree.
The snowflakes and "Merry" are stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Baja Breeze card stock.

I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the centers of the snowflakes and spritzed the card with Frost White Shimmer Paint for extra sparkle.
The ribbon is some silk ribbon that I had purchased quite some time ago and don't use because I love it.  It was the right width that I needed and always make a nice bow!

Glimmer Paper Stars

I created these stars back in August and have not yet shared them so thought I would before Christmas had come and gone!
I used the Glimmer Paper in Red, Silver, and Champagne.

I created a template of a star that I could score lines straight across.  I had found some other star patterns but the scoring was not working for me so created my own.

This photo gives you an idea of the size of these cute stars.
Super simple to make.
Now I just hope I can find that template I made.  It has been almost 3 months and I am sure I put it in a special place so I can find it again, just don't remember where that special place is right now!

Merry Banner

I loved this MERRY banner and was hoping it wouldn't sell at the Holiday Fair but it did.
I may have to make another for myself now.
This banner is made the same as I did the Noel banner HERE .

Love that vintage sheet music!

Look closely and you can see the MERRY banner hanging from the top self of the display at the Holiday fair.  My friend Dori made the wonderful sheet music wreaths you see at either end of the display shelf.

Holiday Fair

Today was the holiday fair and these are some photos of the booth that I shared with my friend Dori from Prairie Scraps
 We had a great day.

Note that cute pillow Dori made with the chair on it - it is also stamped with the saying "keep calm and carry on" from the stamp set Carry On but it didn't show up well in the photo.

Lots of burlap and vintage sheet music!
I think we had a pretty cute little space.

This photo is of our space before the show started.  I should have taken another at the end of the day but the only thought was box up what was left (thankfully not much!) and get home.

Here are some gift tags that I sold today.

I love the simplicity of these "open me" tags.
They are stamped with the set Morning Post Alphabet.
