Thoughtful Branches Christmas Tree

Last day of the month and my Thoughtful Braches cards.

Good news...the exclusive, limited time Thoughtful Branches bundle is still available until it is sold out so if you haven't gotten it yet you still can.

For this card I used the tree stamps and the star from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set to create a Christmas tree.  I stamped the trunk of the tree in Chocolate Chip and the leaves in Garden Green.
The star on top is Daffodil Delight.

The greeting is from a new stamp set in the Holiday Catalog called Wonderful Year and the little background stars and spots around the tree is a stamp from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set.

Other supplies used:
Garden Green cardstock
Whisper White cardstock
Lucky Stars embossing folder
Layering Ovals Framelits

Thoughtful Branches Wreath

I really love the soft look of this card.
The combination of Peekaboo Peach, Calypso Coral, Wild Wasabi on Very Vanilla cardstock....
just makes me happy.

No tricks to make the wreath. I just took the little leaf branch stamp from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set and started stamping a circle and then went back and added more to balance what didn't really look too circular at the start.
For the extra leaves I used an Aqua Painter with Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral ink to watercolor a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I then took the leaf branch stamp and inked with Calypso Coral and stamped off once before stamping over the watercolored paper.  I then cut them out with the coordinating die.
The background used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and the Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral ink.
The banner is from the Endless Thanks stamp set.  It is stamped with Calypso Coral ink on Calypso Coral cardstock.  I heat embossed the "thanks" with white embossing powder.
Hand cut this banner out and popped it up with a couple of dimensionals.

The colors used on this card are Peekaboo Peach, Crumb Cake, Smokey Slate, and Sahara Sand.

Warmth & Cheer with Thoughtful Branches

I have had this black tree sitting on my craft table with the intention of creating a Halloween themed card but lacking any current Halloween stamps it hadn't happened.
So I sat down to play with it and had my new Warmth & Cheer designer series paper stack (in the Holiday Catalog) at hand and the tree looked like it wanted to be with the plaid in the stack and so this card was created.

The card base is Crumb Cake and the strip of paper over the plaid is Delightful Dijon embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder.

The little bird from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set was stamped with Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out with coordinating die.  It looked a little bland so I highlighted the bird with the Delightful Dijon Stampin' Write Marker and also made a black dot for the eye.
I took some Linen Thread and created a "nest" and attached it with a couple of glue dots and then added the bird with a dimensional.

The banner uses the "thank you" from the Thoughtful Branches set along with the Banners for You stamp set and then cut out with the Bunch of Banners Framelits.

I love the colors on the card.  I am so ready for Fall!

Thoughtful Branches Birthday Card

I love that you can create a hydrangea flower with the same stamp and die used for the tree leaves from the Thoughtful Branches bundle.
For this card I used the color combination of Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry.
The background paper is from the Playful Palette designer series paper stack and the birthday greeting is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.

I added a little sparkle with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Gift Card

I have had an idea in my head for a gift card and was planning to use the "I hope you feel appreciated..." stamp from the Thoughtful Branches set.
Then I saw a card on Stampin' Pretty and was inspired!

Here is the inside.
Love the addition of "because you are" with the Thank You.

I designed this card to put a tip in for my wonderful hair stylist and the lovely lady who does my pedicures, so I made it to fit cash.

Below is a picture of how to cut and score.
I started with a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock cut at 6-1/2" x 8-1/2".
Scored at 3" and 6" along the 6-1/2" side.
On the end that is 2-1/2" cut down 3" on the score line and then over to remove that upper section.
Use the Project Life Corner punch to round the one edge and add a piece of tear and tape adhesive along the very bottom of that piece to create the pocket. If the tape is not against the very bottom edge then the cash will peek out the card just a little.

To create the leaves I stamped the leaf image from Thoughtful Branches in Crushed Curry then added some Always Artichoke and Rich Razzleberry with sponge daubers then stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I cleaned off my stamp and started over to create 4 leaves.

I used a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add some golden speckles with gold heat emboss powder.  Then used the coordinating die in the Thoughtful Branches bundle to cut out the leaves.

For the front of the card I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 6" x 2-1/2".
Using the splatter stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge set I stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink and also in Versa Mark and added the gold embossing powder.
I used a piece of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate 1" x 6-1/2" and punched one end with the Banner punch.  I added adhesive just under the area I would be covering with the leaves and top banner.
The top banner is Rich Razzleberry 1" x 3-1/2" also punched on one end with the Banner punch and then the words are stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed in Gold.

I added some Gold Metallic Thread and then put the leaves on.  The top leaf is on a dimensional.
To finish it up I added some gold sequins.
The fourth leaf is used on the inside along with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 1x 3-3/4" then punched at one end with the Banner punch.  The "because you are." is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink and the "thank you" is heat embossed in gold.

Thoughtful Branches Z-Fold Card

To create this z-fold card cut a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", score at 2-1/8" and 4-1/4". The front is a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock cut at 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" and Very Vanilla at 4-1/2" x 3-1/4".  The inside Very Vanilla piece is 4-5/8" x 3-3/8".

I stamped the tree trunk with Chocolate Chip and the grass with Always Artichoke.
To make the tree top I water colored Shimmery White cardstock with an Aqua Painter and ink in Cajun Craze, Peekaboo Peach, and Crushed Curry.
I then stamped the tree top and leaves with Cajun Craze that I stamped off once before stamping on the dried watercolored shimmer paper.  Cut out with coordinating dies from the Thoughtful Branches bundle.  I also stamped a the birds with Chocolate Chip on the shimmer paper and cut out with dies.

The greeting and banner is from the Endless Thanks stamp set.

Don't miss out on the Thoughtful Branches Bundle which is available until August 31 or while supplies last.

Make Flowers out of Leaves

Once again I am featuring the Thoughtful Branches bundle.
I cannot stop making cards with it and I have so many to share with you.

Here I used the leaf stamp and coordinating die to create petals for a sunflower.
I stamped with Delightful Dijon ink on Delightful Dijon cardstock for the petals.
The center is the "tree leaves/flower" stamp stamped in Early Espresso on Chocolate Chip cardstock.
I then cut it out with the coordinating die and attached that to another piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock and then cut it out in a circle with a die from the Layering Circles Framelits set.
The background is Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake cardstock with the Hardwood background stamp.
The banner and greeting are from the Endless Thanks stamp set.

For this next card I used the same leaf stamp and die to create a poinsettia for a Christmas card.

I stamped the leaves in Cherry Cobbler ink on Cherry Cobbler cardstock and 3 more leaves in Garden Green ink on the Garden Green paper. I used a circle of cardstock to build the flower on and then covered the stems of the leaves in the center with some Pearl Basic Jewels.

For the background I used two new folders from the Holiday Catalog; the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing folder.  I sponged the embossed pines with Garden Green ink and then went a little crazy and cut out around them leaving only the corner intact and attached it to the top of the Cable Knit embossed paper.
The greeting is from the Reason for the Season stamp set.
I cut out the greeting and a layer piece with a couple of dies from the Tags & Labels Framelits.

Thoughtful Branches Card Class

Last week I had a card class featuring the Thoughtful Branches bundle and these are the cards we made.

I love getting ideas from Pinterest and some of these are inspired from cards that I saw while looking around there.

This first one was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.
Love the combination of the Jar or Love set with the Thoughtful Branches.

Love the simplicity of the white with pops of red and the Silver Glimmer Paper.
The greeting on this card is from the Wonderous Wreath stamp set.

For this card I used the trees from the Thoughtful Branches set to create a wooded scene.
The sky is sponged with Tempting Turquoise and the ground is Always Artichoke.
I paired it with a leaf stamp and die from the Vintage Leaves stamp set and Leaflets framlits, and a greeting from the Best Birds stamp set.

For the flower I used Dapper Denim and Marina Mist...they make for a great color combo.
The background is Smokey Slate run through the Brick Wall embossing folder and highlighted with white craft ink.

Wonderful Year

So excited to play with some new items from the Holiday Catalog that starts on September 1.

I love the new Cable Knit embossing folder!
Here I used it on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and then mounted that on a card base of Real Red.
The sentiment is from a new stamp set called Wonderful Year and it is heat embossed with Real Red Glitter Stampin' Emboss Powder!!!!
The little strips of paper with diagonal stripes is from the This Christmas Specialty designer series paper in the Annual Catalog.

Here is a look at the inside:

Autumn Trees Thank You Card

Oh yes...another card using the Thoughtful Branches stamp set!

For this card I stamped the trees with Soft Suede ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.
The "leaves" are stamped in Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon, and Elegant Eggplant.
Feeling they needed a little something more I then brushed the Gold Wink of Stella over them to add a little sparkle.
I mounted the Vanilla cardstock onto a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock and then to a base of Delightful Dijon cardstock.
Was quite happy with this color combination.  I really haven't used Delightful Dijon much and never even bought a pack of the cardstock in that color, just had the In-Color pack from when it first came out.  I may have to get some as it works great for fall.

Oh...and I just had to share...I got my pre-order from the holiday catalog and I am so excited!!!!
The first thing I did was run a piece of paper through the new Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The dimensional embossing is amazing.

...And the second thing I did was get out the Copper Foil Sheets and the Starlight Thinlits Dies and make these amazing stars.
Now I just need to make some cards!

The Holiday Catalog starts September 1, 2016.

Falling Leaves

Okay, the leaves aren't falling yet but they will be before we know it.
I can't believe Summer is almost over but I always prefer Fall.

I have used the leaf stamp and die from the Thoughtful Branches a lot.
Have a mentioned how much I love this set?

For this card I stamped the leaves on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock in Cajun Craze, Elegant Eggplant, Crushed Curry and Always Artichoke.
On a scrap of the same paper I stamped 3 extra leaves and cut out with coordinating die.
On a piece of Vellum Cardstock I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink and used the new Copper Stampin' Emboss powder and then heat set it.
I added some adhesive to the vellum behind where I planned to attach the ribbon so it goes unseen.
Used the 5/8" Burlap Ribbon and a little Copper Metallic Thread and then attached the cut out leaves with Glue dots.

This second card is inspired by one I saw online and copied.
I used watercolor paper and applied Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Garden Green ink with an Aqua Painter and let dry.  Oh, and before watercoloring I masked off 3 sides with painter tape.
After it was dry I removed the tape.
Meanwhile I also water colored a piece of Very Vanilla card stock the same as the watercolor paper.
I then stamped the leaf image with VersaMark ink and used Clear Embossing powder.
After heat setting the leaves I sponged on some Soft Suede ink to make the veins of the leaf pop out and then cut with the coordinating die.
I attached the leaves with glue dots in the same color areas on the watercolor paper.
The greeting is stamped in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla paper and then I added a piece of burlap ribbon and sewed together onto the card.
Added some gold sequins and some splatter of Pumpkin Pie ink.

Island Indigo Leaves

Again I am using the Thoughtful Branches stamp set to create this lovely masculine card.

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and added some Island Indigo ink with an Aqua Painter for the background.
I stamped the tree trunk with Soft Suede and the leaves and grass with Always Artichoke ink.

I ran a piece of Soft Suede cardstock though the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder, wrapped a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon around and adhered it to the Island Indigo card base.
Tied some Linen Thread around the watercolor piece and adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  At this point I was going to add a sentiment somehow but nothing looked right and then I stamped a few leaves using the Island Indigo ink and stamping 3 times to get the different shades and then cut them out with the coordinating dies.  Love how they turned out!

With Sympathy Card

Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card this weekend and I don't usually just make a sympathy card for fun, I wait until I am in need of one.

So while I was at it I thought I would make two.

I saw a card like this online earlier today and made a quick sketch of it on scrap paper but didn't save where I found it so I don't know who I am CASing.
Featured on this card is the Thoughtful Branches and Flourishing Phrases stamp sets.
I made a mask using a die from the Layering Squares Framelits Dies and then sponged on some Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist for the background before stamping the tree image with Chocolate Chip ink.
The "With Sympathy" and inside greeting are stamped with Marina Mist ink.
I sponged Marina Mist on the very edges of the card stock and then tied some Linen Thread around it.  I adhered it to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I used the Whisper White Thick Cardstock.

For the back of the card I used a stamp from the Better than Email stamp set.
I inked it up in Marina Mist and then stamped off once before stamping on the back of my card.

Three Cards using Thoughtful Branches

The Thoughtful Branches stamp set with coordinating dies is such a versatile set.

On this first card I used the set to create an apple tree for a cute Thank You card.

I sponged the background with Tempting Turquoise and Garden Green and then used the grass stamp to add some detail also using the Garden Green ink and stamping twice to get the two tones.
The tree trunk is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and the tree leaves are Garden Green.
For the apples I stamped them in Real Red and then made the stems brown with the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker.  Love the little die to cut out these apples.  I found I needed to hold the die in place with a post-it note before running it though the Big Shot as they are so little and shifted easily.
The printed paper on the side is from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack.

...with this same set make a masculine birthday card!

For this card I sponged on the "grass" with Always Artichoke and then used the same color with the grass stamp, stamping once full color and then again for a lighter shade.
I ripped a piece of copy paper to use as a guide to stamp the background trees in Chocolate Chip ink, stamping once in full color and then again for the lighter shade.
The trees in front are stamped in Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke.
I added a little 5/8" Burlap Ribbon, some Linen Thread and a birthday greeting from the stamp set Best Birds and cut out with a Leaflets Framelit Die.

.....and then you can make a Christmas Card!

I love the simplicity of the red and white for this card.
The background trees and greeting are stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed in white.
The greeting is from the Wonderous Wreath stamp set.
The tree is die cut from Whisper White cardstock and attached with little pieces of Stampin' Dimensionals.
The birds are stamped in Real Red and cut out with little dies that are in the set.  They are attached also with Stampin' Dimensionals.

So many options with one set...I love it!

This stamp set and dies is only available until August 31 or while supplies last.
